Lapel Atelier is a family owned business, established in London in 2016. We offer hand-crocheted boutonnieres of various styles and colors that add flair to a man's suit while also being functional, durable, and easy on the suit lapel.
IT ALL STARTS WITH KNOW-HOW AND QUALITY
The art of "crochet" is a form of needlework traditionally passed down from mother to daughter. It requires dexterity, attention to detail, considerable patience and, well, love for the art.
Lapel Atelier's boutonnieres feature a magnetized clasp mechanism that attaches to the suit lapel without piercing the fabric. For added elegance, the magnet is wrapped in ultra soft, luxurious black sheepskin leather.
In our quest for quality, we source our thread from Turkey and our leather from the United Kingdom.
OUR BOUTONNIERES ARE UNIQUE AND HANDCRAFTED WITH PASSION
Every one of our boutonnieres is handcrafted in London. Because they are handcrafted one at a time, no two Lapel Atelier boutonnieres will be identical. Each stitch reflects the artistry and skill of our craftspeople, so you know that your boutonniere is one of a kind.
Every unique boutonniere is handled with care and passion; from the intricate crochet work of the boutonniere itself to the construction of the unique magnetic clasp and of the luxurious black sheepskin leather. Each boutonniere takes an average of three hours to craft.
Our crochet artisans are retired ladies who have developed their skills over a lifetime. Now, Lapel Atelier offers them an opportunity to practice and sustain their craft, while supplementing their family income. Your Lapel Atelier purchase helps support these craftspeople and maintain the art of crochet.
LAPEL ATELIER'S BOUTONNIERES: A NEW TAKE ON A TIMELESS CLASSIC
From sprucing up an everyday suit or adding a touch of class to an ordinary blazer to marking a special occasion in a distinctive and memorable manner, Lapel Atelier's uniquely designed boutonnieres provide masculine elegance for the modern man.
For the fashion connoisseur, the choices on the market include expensive designer boutonnieres in a limited range of colors and styles; ill-designed and poorly crafted cheaper options; and fresh flowers that can be difficult to source, quickly wilt, and do not travel well.
Our boutonnieres are a new take on a timeless classic and we celebrate the men who have worn them, from royals and rulers to Hollywood stars and style icons.
